I can't believe we have already been home almost two whole days. We have been focusing on getting as much in her tummy as possible and soaking up the sunshine to get the bilirubin back down. She has her first pediatrician visit tomorrow morning and we are hopefull she has gained an oz or two as well :) We are still having to wake her to feed but hope, with time, that will change. You just assume when you bring home a baby they will do their usual crying to let you know when they are ready to eat but Harper is still learning the ropes. She definitely doesn't like a dirty diaper though and will quickly let you know when she needs to be changed. Her cry is the most precious sound in the world as it is so soft and delicate.
Her big brother and big sister have not lost interest in her yet, which is wonderful. Hayden is still on diaper patrol, even after all these years. It is as if he has extra sensory sniffers and can smell it a mile away. He is right there to be the one to dispose of it properly ;) They are both in to her every wants and needs and it is as if we brought home a live doll baby just for them. Hadley has even begun teaching her little sis her ABCs. It is too precious witnessing the love they already have for her. It was just as instant as the love we had for her as well. Tomorrow will be my first outing alone with three kiddos. I am not worried as I know Hayden and Hadley will be tons of help. It is when they go back to school that I will begin to worry as I will be loosing my biggest helpers.
We will have Mimi back to help us tomorrow and then Memaw will be coming around Aug 17th, just before school begins, to help with Harper while Jacob and I tend to all of the back to school festivities. We are also looking forward to a visit from her Aunt Meg just as soon as she can work a trip this way into her schedule.
It is almost time for another feeding, so I must conclude for now, but I will be sure to send an update from her visit with the pediatrician tomorrow.
