Almost Home

I spent the night with Harper and although I am exhausted, it was wonderful. It was so fulfilling to be able to give her all of her feedings, change her diapers and even give her a bath. All of the simple things we would be doing if she were at home. Her platelet count keeps going up and was around 130+ last I had heard. She is consistently taking all of her feedings through her bottle and is scheduled to come home tomorrow if she continues on this same path. The nurse tried to do a hearing screening last night but she was just too fidgety to get an accurate reading. She will try again tonight. Big brother and Big sister were finally able to hold her for the first time today. They were elated and I can just tell she will be forever loved by these two. Her first nurses made a special trip over to see her and take pictures with her. Once again, I can't say enough about the care these wonderful women have given our 'Baby Girl Askea.' She has captured their hearts and they couldn't leave without exchanging contact information to continue receiving updates on Harper. Jacob will be staying with her tonight and we pray we will all be home together, forever tomorrow night! We have even planned a family camp out when she comes home. That translates to Hadley in a sleeping bag at the foot of our bed, Hayden in the new recliner, Jacob and I in our bed and Harper in the pack n play all in the same room. I can't think of a better way to celebrate our family being together under one roof.
